Chongqing Dog and Chuandong Hound

In the not very distant past, these two breeds were considered in China as belonging to the same breed, with the distinction of being separated into hunting type (Chuandong Hound) and city type (Chongqing Dog).

Recent efforts of recovery and preservation of the Chinese native breeds, led CKU officials to the separation of these two different types into two different breeds with two distinct standards.
